Tools and Reference Documents
We carefully gathered relevant documents supporting the Transition Cégep project. They are divided into five categories and provide access to publications that can support stakeholders in the college setting with their practice and interventions.
Mental health of youth transitioning to adulthood
In this section we suggest articles that describe youth's statistical profile, specifically their health. Also available are studies on risk factors and aspects about protecting their mental health, as well as documents focusing specifically on the transition.
Mental health of post-secondary students
Available articles suggest that the mental health of post-secondary students has been a hot topic since 2010. Published literature reviews on the subject and reports on the situation of students with special needs reflect this interest.
Academic success and mental health
Academic success and mental health are connected. Some references proving this include research reports conducted among young people in Canada and Quebec (often in colleges), and documents that provide guidelines to promote academic success and improve mental health.
Promising interventions for promoting mental health
This section groups key documents including practice guidelines on health and mental health promotion, specifically in post-secondary institutions. Other articles describe promising interventions for youth transitioning to adulthood.
Mental health services and youth transitioning to adulthood
This section is dedicated to articles about services that cater to youth, factors that influence access and usage. Some documents refer more specifically to services for college students.
