In 2008, the CSSS de la Vieille-Capitale participated in the Cible Qualité research project. Following the project’s knowledge application phase, the CSSS developed a plan to improve local quality of care and services. A presentation will take place to raise awareness on:

• the role of the knowledge broker who supported the CSSS;
• how the local respondent guided the project within the CSSS;
• the selected implementation strategies;
• specific challenges and positive elements identified by the CSSS team during the implementation phase;
• the project’s medium- and long-term impact on service organization and on clinical practices;
• the assessment of a guidance approach when implementing strategies to improve quality of care and services.

Program directors for the adult mental health program of the Agence de la Montérégie agreed to create a regional project manager position to support the development updates of primary care services in adult mental health. The decision was strongly influenced by CSSS Pierre Boucher’s participation in the Cible Qualité project. A health social service centre (CSSS) will soon be selected to supervise the creation of this position.

The Cible Qualité project is a stepping stone for the work involved: creating work committees in the 10 participating CSSS, integrating a structured approach to the application of knowledge, developing an implementation plan in each CSSS.

The work will take place over one year and the regional project manager will receive support from the Cible Qualité knowledge broker. For information, contact Michel Gontier: m.gontier@rrsss16.gouv.qc.ca

Dr. Francine P. Morin, Dr. Clément Beaucage and M. Rodrigue Côté, local working committee members and respondents associated with Cible Qualité, joined the Jalons project’s committee of experts.

This project is an extension of the Cible Qualité project. The goal is to bridge the gaps that were previously identified in support tools and implementing strategies for changes in practices to support primary mental health care providers.

The work will focus on three main topics: depressive disorders, anxiety disorders and collaboration between general practitioners and primary mental health care teams. The Jalons project site will be online shortly.
