2012 Annual Mental Health Days

The JASM provide a valuable opportunity for Qualaxia Network members. Not only can they present their research work, but they can also interact directly with key players regarding population mental health.

Under the theme "From Breaking to Growth," the objective of the 2012 edition is to better understand the systemic implications of mental health in different spheres of life. This event will be held May 14 to 16, 2012, at the Delta Centre-Ville in Montréal.

The Qualaxia Network will focus on two major themes: primary care promotion/prevention integration and consolidation of intervention practices in primary care. On May 14 and 15, Qualaxia members including researchers, caregivers, managers and decision-makers will give presentations that bear upon research results and issues linked to population mental health. Participants will be invited to discuss the evolution of practices after the presentations take place.

Information on the network's activities and ongoing research work will be available until May 15 at Qualaxia's kiosk.

We have prepared a series of documents and tools that provide an overview of these research works, which focus on primary mental health care issues.

A rewarding collaboration

Once again this year, the work of Qualaxia network members has attracted great interest. In total, 180 people attended the four workshops organized by our members. The two guided visits allowed participants to discover research projects in mental health promotion, and other projects aiming to improve care quality or indicator development. Thanks to our kiosk, we were able to discuss the various subjects developed by our members with many interested parties.

We would like to thank JASM (Annual Mental Health Days) organizers, who opened their doors to us once again this year. This collaboration helps us promote the Qualaxia Network, present applied research work of members, and promote knowledge sharing in population mental health among care providers, managers, experts and students, as well as individuals afflicted with a mental health problem and their loved ones.
